So remember in my last post when I said that one of things I was going to do for Lent was to start posting regularly on my blog?
Remember how not a single post developed after that?
Yeah.
Apparently I'm not only the worst blogger in history, I'm also the worst Catholic. The good news is I've decided to begin again. Or at least decided to try (whether or not anyone is still reading this is pretty suspect, but the beauty of blogging is that you don't have to KNOW that anyway).
So as you might expect, a lot has been going on in this part of the world. Vaughan and I returned a few weeks ago from a work trip to the outback, which was pretty much notable for it's complete and utter lack of reasonable food for people who *gasp* might not eat meat. This is because it's a town of 60 people (I didn't type that wrong), and all of those people have apparently developed digestive systems similar to that of jungle cats, and no longer require vegetation. The few times Vaughan and I tried to buy fruit and vegetables, we brought them home (to our trailer...sigh) only to discover that they were not in fact either fruit or veg, but rather experiments in growing penicillin. We cut into an avocado once that I'm now positive was actually made out of rubber.
Needless to say, after 4 weeks out in the bush, Vaughan is proud of my increasing abilities to stave off boredom with almost no entertainment (can you believe we forgot DVDs?) and I am finally (and slowly) starting my running career again.
Currently Vaughan and I are down south in Margaret River where we will begin work at a vineyard on Monday picking grapes for a little extra cash. I'm pretty much just thrilled to be making money of any kind right now. And probably even more thrilled that the money I"m making will come in beautiful Monopoly-esque colors while still being real. Take that, boring American money!
Tomorrow Vaughan and I are going to start work on my first wildlife documentary...very serious business. ;) I'll let you all know when we post it on youtube.

yay, another posting! glad to hear you made it out of Windorah alive, just in time to escape getting scurvy from not eating fruits and veggies. Wow, picking grapes sounds exciting and... not easy. I totally feel ya on earning money: I'm still "freelancing" (unemployed) here in Oakland. As for colorful money, just yesterday I spent my first "new" five dollar bill and went, "whoa, it's all pretty!"... cause it's got more colors on it now. Anyway, Piper, you are a badass and I love reading your updates, so keep 'em comin! Best to you and Vaughan ~ Laura
yay laura!
it makes me happy somebody is reading this, because i quit for so long i was pretty sure my readership (all 2 of them) figured i had died.
and i so feel you on the "freelancing" thing.
i hate when people ask me what i do, because the truthful answer is pretty much "nothing."
from now on i'm just going to say:
"oh i freelance."
"freelance what?
"i don't really know."
